The Watermark at Napa Retirement Community

Watermark Retirement Communities, TFG and its development partner, Oppidan, are developing The Watermark at Napa Retirement Community in Napa, California. The Community will include Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care. The development will feature 173 total apartments (181 beds) available for rent across many unique floor plans and sizes, including 73 Independent Living, 79 Assisted Living and 21 Memory Care (29 beds). As currently contemplated, the total construction costs are estimated to be $57M and the total project cost of about $66M. The project broke ground in Spring 2018, with an expected open date of early 2020.

Situated on nearly 6 acres in Napa Valley, The Watermark at Napa Valley will be a stylish senior living and wellness community inspired by California’s big skies and full light, the area’s rich food and wine culture and the celebrated bountiful and active lifestyle of the West.

The Watermark at Napa Valley, welcoming those seeking exceptional independent living, assisted living and memory care, will feature contemporary California design and architecture, with a strong dash of the rustic yet sophisticated French farmhouse style so favored in the area. The community is sited on the grounds of Justin-Siena High School, a private Catholic academy, affording opportunities for intergenerational engagements, including intergenerational learning projects and possible student internships.

Floor plans will include studio, one bedroom and two bedroom residences. Residences are spacious, light-filled and come in a generous variety of layouts. Kitchens and baths will feature top-of-the-line appliances and fixtures. Many open onto courtyards.

Communal spaces include a variety of indoor and outdoor living spaces interspersed by lush gardens and courtyards. Wellness and fitness spaces include a large movement center, a deck for Pilates and yoga and exercise rooms – many that are activated by immediate access to patios and courtyard – for a full range of classes. Lifestyle-focused amenities include full-service salon, a spa and a theater. Dining venues abound, including a formal dining room with floor-to-ceiling sliding windows, a wine bar, a coffee bar. Menus will be filled with healthy and tasty selections, many based on the recipes of Rebecca Katz of Healing Kitchens, based in the San Francisco Bay area. The community will promote comfortable indoor/outdoor living.

The Watermark at Napa Valley is projected to open Q1 2020.
