Bryan Schachter, Chief Investment Officer

Bryan

I joined Watermark and The Freshwater Group in 2006 as the wellness initiative coordinator — all while I was still a student in the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management. I advanced through the ranks and soon transitioned to the role of Analyst in 2008, then Senior Analyst, then multiple Director roles and most recently I was named Chief Investment Officer in March 2020.
In this role, I manage Watermark’s investments, including acquisitions, developments, redevelopments and dispositions performing financial and market feasibility as well as joint venture, loan and sale negotiations. Since 2011, The Freshwater Group/Watermark has closed 44 separate transactions with total deal capitalization of more than $3.2 billion and has approximately $400 million in the current pipeline. From those transactions, the company’s portfolio has grown from seven to 65 communities located across 21 states, including developments and redevelopments that are currently underway.
I enjoy the work I do to help Watermark and The Freshwater Group execute financial transactions in the senior living industry. I remain committed to making a profound impact each day as I continue to grow and my experience evolves in this changing industry.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2007 from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with specialization in marketing and entrepreneurship.
