The Winslow – Westport, CT

The Winslow Senior Living Community will be set amidst an eight-acre estate of rolling hills, forests and meadows, in the heart of Westport, Connecticut.  With housing organized around a traditional New England village green, the property’s natural landscape will be preserved to the greatest possible extent and careful site selection will bring nature to the threshold of every home to enhance the vitality of those who dwell there.  Freshwater has teamed with Jonathan Rose Companies, an award winning national developer noted for their innovative, environmentally-sensitive and socially responsible approach to development.  Accommodations at The Winslow will include 130 independent-living apartments as well as two residential villas each with 16 suites (to accommodate a total of up to 38 residents) specifically designed for those in need of assistance with daily living or memory care activities. These shared households, residential in details, design and scale, are an integral part of the Winslow neighborhood. All of these inviting homes will have rustic exteriors that blend in with the wooded setting, and interiors that incorporate advanced universal design. Green building practices will provide superior air quality, elimination of toxins, and increased comfort, while conserving energy. The community center will have sweeping views of the forested property, and its central area will be akin to a hotel lobby, bustling with activity during the day. It will include a gracious clubroom and dining room, a cyber café, and a comfortable living room with a grand central fireplace. An adjacent activity room will be the venue for lectures, parties and performances. Residents will have convenient access to on-site amenities, including a salon and spa, fitness center, swimming pool, gardens, walking trails, and private transportation. Following the successful Watermark University model, a full schedule of classes will be available to encourage mind and body fitness. Residents will also have access to the adjacent Westport Center for Senior Activities. The Jewish Home for the Elderly of Fairfield County will provide a-la-carte assisted living services, allowing for seamless aging in place. The Freshwater Group is honored that the Town of Westport has selected Rose/Freshwater/JHE Team to provide much-needed rental housing to area seniors at a variety of market rates.
