The Watermark at Westwood Village, a new Watermark Retirement Communities and Kayne Anderson project, will offer senior living in an historic building that Watermark is completely renovating and upgrading. At 189,000 square feet, 14 floors and nearly 200 residences, The Watermark will be a destination senior living spot for the Los Angles area and beyond. Forward-thinking programming, services and amenities at The Watermark will take full advantage of the location. Just at the south-east edge of the UCLA campus at 947 Tiverton Ave, the community’s close proximity to this world-renowned university noted for its arts and humanities programming will create abundant opportunities for rich relationships and exchanges. The UCLA Medical Center and the David Geffen School of Medicine will provide channels for integrative health and wellness programming at The Watermark, including its on-site Wellness Clinic, as well as proximity to world-class medical care. The community will feature contemporary California design and architecture, with a strong sense of the mid-century modern sensibility of the structure’s original construction. Watermark has engaged architect CallisonRTKL and the global design firm HBA. The community will feature world-class common area amenities including a rooftop aerie with floor to ceiling glass walls on two sides; a sunny, comfortable library and lounge; an elegant, two-story auditorium with audio visual features for conferences, concerts and performances; fully-equipped fitness center; a wellness clinic where residents will be able to get wellness checks, receive massage, acupuncture and other integrative therapies and see visiting medical and wellness specialists in private treatment rooms. A standout for this community will be its cuisine. Residents of The Watermark will enjoy several dining venues, including a formal dining room with two-story glass windows; a bistro that is part café and part sports bar, with fresh brasserie fare that includes soups, salads, starters, sandwiches, and light lunch and dinner entrées; a wine bar and a coffee bar; and a private dining venue. Menus will be filled with healthy and tasty selections, serving chef-prepared, award-winning menus and recipes by Rebecca Katz of Healing Kitchens, featuring locally-sourced, healthy and tasty culinary creations that will fit right in the with the LA food scene. The Watermark at Westwood Village will be a community where a culture of hospitality and wellness pervades, where revolutionary design and programming emphasize well-being and healing over institutional care and conformity.
